Driving double bass sections, slow crushing riffs, and mesmerizing guitar harmonies, Resilience is Amarok’s most atmospheric and conceptual album to date. With vulnerable honesty, Resilience offers personal reflections about suffering great loss. It is a testament to the perseverance required to process grief, alchemize pain into growth, and pull hope from the void of darkness and despair. Known for weaving symbols of the natural world into their lyrics, Amarok pays homage on this album to the deadly fires near the band’s home in Northern California, as well other personal tragedies. Resilience serves as a reminder that just as nature regenerates after the earth has been scorched, humans have the same transformational capacity.
